Egry József Secondary School is located near Lake Balaton, in a 222 acre closed areal in a forest. It is a secondary school specialising in catering and hospitality, environmental protection and computer studies. On vocational courses students train to become waiters, waitresses and chefs.
The school building is not located in a settlement. Lessons take places in the New Generation Centre which lies in the territory of Balaton Upland National Park. The school building and dormitory buildings are among the buildings of the youth centre in a huge park-like area. There are currently approximately 250 learners aged 14-19 and 40 teachers at the school.
In the youth centre gastronomy contests and events are often organised so the students have some challenges to develop their competencies. Students can complete their training in a three-star hotel and in the school's training kitchen and training restaurant.
ELOCASS is the school's first European project.
